Companies have induction programs for their new employees.

Organizations draw out training plans for their staff.

Businesses design standard technical courses for their teams.

Corporations go on annual retreat to regroup and strategize.

These institutions do these, even though they know your stay isn’t eternal.

 

Amazing how we treat the marriage institution we consider permanent differently.

We profess it’s forever, but we recess at the sight of training.

We admit we are fallible, but we legit make no effort to do better.

We cause one another pain but will not take courses that will abate them.

We legislate against abuse, but we refuse to update our learning on preventive measures.

 

We continue to use prehistoric methods to address contemporary issues.

Resolve a 3-month premarital counseling is okay to carry a 40 or so year marriage journey.

And we marvel when many fall into depression, and several are suicidal.

We wonder why separation and divorce rates continue to rise.

We forget that even a phone app crashes when several notification updates are ignored.

 

It’s been 5, 10 years or more on this ‘marriage app’

The promptings for update or a roundtable have been unending.

The warning signs to refine the system and review the progress have been clear.

Alerting you to upgrade from the inaugural to an enhanced version.

Drawing your attention to your spouse’s concerns, complaints, and fears.

 

But then the notification comes with two options:

UPDATE or IGNORE.

What are you going to do?
