IN THE MEANTIME
When David was anointed king, he went back to the yard to take care of his father’s flock.
When Saul was anointed king he went back home to take care of his dad’s business.
God called and spoke to Samuel, but he was still found tending to Eli’s needs afterwards.
However, when the need arose. David stepped out and eliminated Goliath. THEN the people crowned him their king.
When the need arose, Saul stepped out and cleared the Amalekites. THEN the people enthroned him their king.
When the time came, Jesus walked on water and stilled the storm. THEN they said, ‘Of a truth you are the Son of God.
Not many were there when you were anointed. Not many were present when oil was poured on you. Because anointing mostly takes place in private, and vision is hardly caught in the open. So, don’t be mad if it takes a while for the people to get the memo. Don’t get frustrated when no one seems to acknowledge your anointing. They were not there, and they really couldn’t be bothered. For them, Process is their language. Routine is what they know.
A public need will soon make a demand on your private commission.
A widespread scarcity will soon press for your esoteric accreditation.
A Goliath will soon show that will call out the David in you.
Some Amalekites will arise and make a request on your Saul.
And when that need comes, everyone will have no choice, David, they will wait for you. When that need shows, no one will be able to deny the oil on your head.
In the meantime, go through the process, through the mundane. Lead the sheep to pasture. Clean Papa and Mama’s shoes. Run errands like you used to before you were anointed. Deliver on the small businesses you were accustomed to before oil was poured on you. Go through the process.
Because when the time comes, Daniel, it’s the Queen, not you, who will stand on the podium and declare, ‘There is a man in your kingdom, O king, in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God… light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him…now let Daniel be called…”
It’s the Queen’s call. Preeminent in her field of activity. A diva whose assertions cannot be faulted. A goddess whose proclamations cannot be argued. When she confirms you, it’s final. When she endorses you, it’s done. You need a voice like hers. You need representation in the palace. You need a name-mentioner where decisions are being taken.
So, even if it’s in prison like Joseph on the field like David, let that call meet you doing your bit. For the same way Joseph, David and Daniel were brought in before the king, in their times, you will soon be brought in. You will soon be summoned. In the meantime, run your errands.
For anointing does not negate process, friend. Oil will not make you skip class.
Run your errands.
